About Me and my Website

I created this site to share resources, information, knowledge and my experiences with anyone who works in tech or has some sort of technical hobby. It is my hope that anything you find as a result of this website can help you learn a new skill, pass a certification, advanced your career or improve your life in some sort of way.

Who Am I?

My name is Miles. I have worked in I.T. since 2010 and have recently started a job as a SOC analyst (cyber security analyst). However I have had an interest in computers and technology since my preteen years. I've been the "tech person" in my family for as long as I can remember. You can find me on Twitter as @InfosecMiles.

I enjoy video games, movies, mixology, lock picking, camp fires and going to conventions. I can be found at most ValpoHacks meetups, some of the Burbsec meetups and infosec conferences in Midwest America.

What is my work experience?

Currently I am in my first year as a SOC analyst/cybersecurity analyst. Before this I worked I.T support for 11 years. I worked at a school corporation, a hospital and a multiservice provider that had over 100 clients.

Do I have any certification?

I currently have CompTIA A+, CompTIA Server+, CompTIA Security+, CompTIA CySA+ and Splunk Core Certified User

What other infosec/hacker/tech events have I been involved with?

When I was in high school I volunteered as a Audio/Visual tech lead at my church which involved a lot of troubleshooting equipment and teaching younger volunteers how to operate the technology. In the past few years I have started volunteering for hacker conferences mostly with Circle City Con. In 2021 I participated in a Trace Labs Global OSINT Search Party CTF. I also help organize events for a meetup called ValpoHacks.
